Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Customs Import Specialist to oversee and manage import processes for TRIAIM Enterprise. The role involves tasks such as managing imports, coordinating international trade activities, ensuring compliance with all U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, manages import documentation, and facilitates smooth cross-border logistics. The Customs Import Specialist will work closely with customs authorities, brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to ensure that shipments are processed efficiently and within legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review import documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and packing lists.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to streamline import processes.
  • Resolve issues related to customs clearance, tariff classifications, and import duties.
  • Review and organize incoming documents to meet reporting requirements for US Customs and other government agencies.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulations set forth by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other relevant authorities.

  • Works closely with customs brokers, shippers and internal teams to ensure shipments are processed accurately, with complete documentation and compliance.
  • Accurately classify products using Harmonized System (HS) codes and determine corresponding tariffs, duties, and taxes for international shipments.
  • Maintain importer files and provide necessary documentation to agencies such as the FDA and USDA.
  • Maintain accurate records of all import/export transactions, including supporting documents, to meet legal and company policy requirements.
  • Stay up to date on changing laws and regulations related to global trade and customs procedures.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, Logistics, or related field.
  • 3+ years in Import/Export operations or Customs Compliance.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. customs regulations, international trade laws, and import/export processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and familiarity with ERP or logistics management software.
  • Ability to problem-solve compliance issues and navigate complexities of international trade.
  • Experience in the chemical and pigment industry is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
